Robins captain swaps for new challenge with The Jockeys

The club can confirm that captain James Seymour has left the club and joined fellow Thurlow Nunn local neighbours Newmarket Town.

James made over 100 appearances for the club after making his debut away at Gorleston on 10th August 2013. From that appearance he has seen many changes at the club and has experienced the highs and the lows of relegation and promotion.

After last seasons promotion back to the Premier Division this season has been hard for for James as well as the side and posting on his Twitter account he confirmed that he had an amazing time at Ely City and that the club is going in the right direction. He just felt that he needed a new challenge.

The club wishes to thank James for his loyal service over the past three years not just on the pitch ,but as off of it as well as he has been a great ambassador.

Good luck to him with his new challenge at Newmarket Town
