Ely under 12's found themselves in a very Strong Table that was going to test their progress this season...

They proved themselves equal to the best Norfolk could offer as they drew with Wymondham with a great display of defence and the occasional attacking breakout.

Second up were West Norfolk who are a familiar opposition who always battle hard and are close encounters...this was to be no different....

Ely took the lead with a text book Maul close to the West Norfolk Try line (in direct conflict with team policy :) )
and Stephen Snook peeled of the side to offload to Harvey Cross to drive through to the line...Robbie Hayes was a noticeable difference when he entered the maul to drive it on...
It looked like it was going to be Ely's day but sadly good West Norfolk pressure resulted in some not so cool decisions to kick in too tight a position and ultimately West Norfolk stole the ball to equalise.

The final game in the Group proved to be one of the best performances of the year as Ely were relentless in there attacking play against Holt...it was wave after wave of offloading and support play and they were to dominate the game 4 tries to 0....Robbie Hayes 2 Harvey Cross 1 and Stephen Snook 1

So into the plate final knowing they were second to none at this stage.

Sadly the 3 hugely contested games had taken the toll on the small squad and it just wasn't to be as they couldn't get into the games as they had in the Group Stages and several players looked shattered...

But as earlier in the season drawing against the eventual winners...proving they can do it....and we are sure they will.....
