Chobham won the toss and elected to bat.

Their opening batsman went on to score 51 out of their total of 101 with their number 9 adding 26 valuable runs, but it could have been so different.

Jacob and Tom opened the bowling, and Jacob struck in the first over. After 6 very tidy overs Chobham were on 15 for 1, but it could have been better as there were three dropped catches, including one while the opener was still on 1 run. However, Charlie and Ryan came into the attack and kept the pressure up with Ryan striking in his first over. In his second over Ryan struck again with Alex taking the catch to leave Chobham on 36 for 3 off 10 overs with the opener deciding to hit out.Alex and smartie came in next and Alex felt the brunt of the big hitting as 3 sixes were plundered off his over. However, in a remarkable over at teh other end Smartie took 4 wickets in four balls to leave the crowd stunned and me searching for the technicla term for such a feat (four in four according to Wikipidea).
First ball - bye
2nd ball - dot
third ball Bowled
4th ball - Bowled
5th ball - caught Jacob
6th ball - bowled
Chobhma were now reeling on 62 for 7 after 13 overs. but the big hitting continued with Tom unable to stem the flow and then Smartie suffering a flurry of fours in his second over. Ryan and Jacob cmae in to finish the tail when the opener retired and each took the stumps out of the ground to finsih the innings after 18 overs and leaving us 102 to chase.

Fielding was good and despite being a man down due to illness we covererd the ground well and began to think about setting the field for batsmen of different abilities.

We felt confident chasing 102 but lost our top three batsmen in the first 4 overs to leave us struggling. Alex (0) was bowled, Smartie (0) was caught by a fine low catch and Sean (3) was bowled to leave us on 7 for 3. Harry and Tom pushed the score on to 22 before Harry (6) was bowled. Finley joined Tom but struggled to get his eye in and was bowled without moving the core on. Jacob and Tom then fought hard to get us back in the game with a fine partnership of 34 before Tom (29)was run out after being dropped. Jacob (18) was bowled a couple of overs later. Liam (4) and Charlie (2) couldn't really play themselves in and Ryan faced one ball (0 NO). We ended on 77 after 18 overs falling 25 runs short.

Batting was again our downfall as we failed to score runs off stgright bowls and then tried to force runs off shots that we shouldn't as the pressure built. Relying on timing rather than trying to hit the ball as hard as possible and ensuring we get bat on ball is definitely something to work on in the nets.

fielding was good, although we dropped catches that would have made the chase much easier.
Bowling was generally tidy and accurate with Jacob, Ryan and Smartie deserving their wickets.
And finally well done to Smartie for the "four in four"
