A game against one of the early season pace setters was seen as a vital match even though it was early in the season.

Electricity skipper Ainge won the toss and inserted Enderby on a tired looking pitch. Skipper Moore had warned against the dangers of not using our overs up and Enderby responded by posting a total of 150 in their 45 overs with significant contributions from Harrison (42) and Blanksby (32). Moore had asked for a minimum of 150 on this pitch and duly got it though another 20 would have been useful.

Tight spells by Blanksby, Shevas and Cartwright paved the way for spin king Harrison to produce a wonderful spell of bowling and eventually ending up with figures of 6-60 from 17 overs. At 87-8 it was looking good for Enderby. However the Electricity wicketkeeper and opening bowler soon got into their stride and pushed the score up to 135-8.

Blanksby got the wicketkeeper but the opening bowler continued to chance his arm. It came down to the last over with electricity needed 5 to win and Enderby needing 1 wicket. Blanksby bowled a tight over and it came down to them needing 2 off the last ball. Blanksby bowled it and it was hit straight back at him. The electricity batsman ran but it was in vain as Blanksby held his nerve and ran the last batsman out as Enderby won by 1 run.

MOM - Harrsion for a well made 42 and a wonderful spell of 6-60
