However, it is an occasion of mixed emotions. Like everyone else at the club I am disappointed that Luke has had to step down as manager due to work commitments after an extremely strong first season in charge. For me personally it was a huge pleasure to work with him and the players last season and I hope that he will still be around from time to time when work allows. It is a great honour to have been asked by the Chairman to take this job on. Enfield is a name synonymous with the history of non-league football and my intention is to make it a name synonymous with success in the future too.
We have an incredible group of players who could not have given any more last season in a gallant title challenge that fell agonisingly short. We have unfinished business with this league and I know that the squad will me give me everything again in the season to come as I try and build on Luke's tremendous achievements.
I will be announcing details of my management team in due course."
