Story by Jonathan Landi.

KEIR BONNAR, the Enfield Ignatians' vice-captain, was voted the Players' Player of the Year following another excellent season at centre (May 30th).

Coach Emile Hertz said: "Keir was a deserved winner of the award. You always know what you are going to get with him, and notably some hard, straight running and some good tackling. Just as importantly his performance levels never wavered even when the going got tough."

Other award winners at first team level were Jack Wilson (most improved) and Luke Stack (top trainer),

Hertz added: "Jack Wilson's game really took off at fullback. He started to really pick up the pace before Christmas and his improved form continued into the New Year - particularly with regard to his kicking."

Other award winners at senior level were Sean Coyne (second team player of the season) and Bradley Smith (fourth team player of the year).

The competition for Clubman of the Year was fierce. Captain Luke Ellis and Keir Bonnar were in the mix, as was Fixtures' Secretary Matt Head, but ultimately the award deservedly went to Steve Renny.

A clubman to the core, he made his mark at both senior and junior levels. One of the driving forces behind the success behind the Herts-Middlesex Merit Table Five cup finalists, the fours, Steve Renny also made his mark at junior level as the successful coach of the U18s.

Runners up to Ampthill in Herts-Middlesex Division Four, the U18s made big strides forward in terms of player recruitment and retention, which enabled the side to win the bulk of their league games, as well as enjoy some memorable tussles with the likes of Saracens (one win from two) and Hertford.
