UCS OLD BOYS IIs 0 ENFIELD IGNATIANS IIs 64

The twos were winners in more ways than one. They could have remained in dry dock after bagging a 25-0 default win against Finchley IIs. Instead, they managed to fill the void by picking up a late away fixture against UCS Old Boys IIs and were well on top after running-in ten tries to win 64-0.

The rampant twos ran in ten tries with Ryan Browne, soon to return to Northampton University, landing a hat-trick and Adrian Arthur claiming a brace.

The single-digit scorers were David Gear, Paul Duke, Brad Smith, Mikey Burr and Chieka Okadigbo - in a scoreline further enhanced by seven conversions from Duke's boot.
Paul Duke said: "It was great that we were able to integrate nine ex-colts in the team. It was also good that this didn't turn into another blank Saturday, as happened against Harpenden IIs the previous weekend. We used the game to run through our set-plays and try out players in different positions.

"It wasn't easy choosing a Man of the Match but we thought that George Cox did very well and deserved the award. However, special mentions must also go to Micky Burr, Laurence White and Brad Smith.

"It was fairly even up front. With Alex McCall hooking, we had Ray Hayes and William Bruce propping, but were able to bolster our front row resources by eventually introducing Rob Gardener and Lewis White. Each side tended to win their own put-in and it was a day for the backs."
