The hard work on and off the field at youth level isn't going un-noticed and Alec Willis and Glory Makabukidi have been nominated for Jack Petchey awards in January and February respectively. Each award earns £200 for the club to be spent on a project of the award winner's choice.

Alec Willis has secured his as a result of his hard work as coaching assistant to the successful U15s promotion seeking side which boasts a 75 per cent success rate in Herts-Middlesex Division Six.

A club spokesman said: ""Alec has shown a great commitment to the club. He comes to training sessions and games even though he can't play due to injury. He is also an avid supporter of his former U17s team-mates."

Try machine Glory Makabukidi is one of the stars of an unbeaten U13s league side that has swept all before it in Herts-Middlesex Division Seven.

A player that scores tries for fun, he is the U13s prime attacking weapon and will clearly be a key component next season when his side will almost certainly be playing in a higher league.

Ben Bruce and Hadee Fayaz are the club's previous Jack Petchey award winners.
