Chambers hits 100 and Berry 73 in impressive win for Surrey
In the final match of the season Surrey U11 CAG played Sussex U11 CAG at the LSE sportsground at New Malden. Representing the side were 2 of Epsom’s up and coming talents, Ben Berry and Alex Chambers both of whom have played for Epsom U15’s development this year and have contributed consistently for Surrey this season with the bat and the ball. Playing a split 40 over format Surrey were put into bat, with Berry opening and smashing the Sussex bowlers around and ending up on 73 off 45 balls before being run out. Chambers was now at the crease and continued to put the pressure on by scoring an impressive 102 off 93 balls (the first centurion of the season) and putting Surrey in a commanding position before being caught. Surrey ending up with 251. Surrey then continued to bowl well in both halves finally bowling Sussex out for 85. A huge congratulations goes out to Alex for his first century. Well done Boys we look forward to future successes at club and county!
