Youth Rugby Update
Sunday 1st April saw our youngsters take part in their first match together against Dartfordians.
I would like to thank Dartfordians for coming along and taking part in the day which started with a joint training session followed by a match.
The boys worked extremely hard in the training session, and the progress that all the boys have made over the past 8 months has been exceptional.
The game was played in the true sprit of Rugby, no tantrums, no back chatting to the ref, no bickering among each other and a common desire to play good rugby. I am sure that there are many senior sides out there who wish they could say the same.
Despite this being the first time that they had played as a team, Jimmy and I were very impressed in the way that the ball was recycled, how opponents were cleared out when rucks were formed and in our passing and lines of running.
The score was immaterial as it was about playing and gelling as a team but it was a very satisfying win, and will give us momentum to carry this on into next season where we hope to play on a regular basis.
As well as thanking Dartfordians for their support in the day, I would like to thank all the parents for their support not only on Sunday but throughout the season. Long may it continue.
