London Bari 2 - 3 Waltham Forest

from Waltham Forest

Waltham Forest made it two wins on the bounce for the first time since April 2013, with a 3-2 win over London Bari.

Forest started brightly, and took a fifth minute lead, as Hassana Traore scored his third goal in as many games. The winger’s shot from just outside the box took a slight deflection on its way to nestling in the bottom corner of the goal.

Mid-way through the half, the home side were gifted a way back into the game as Yakup Seyer fumbled the easiest of headers, allowing the Bari forward to bundle the ball home.

However, the scores were only level for a short amount of time, as James Ogunleye’s towering back-post header converted Solomon Ofori’s corner, restoring Forest’s lead.

And soon after, Forest were two goals to the good, as Jose Agua drilled low into the bottom corner from just inside the penalty area.

Bari were given another invitation to get back into the match, as Ali Shikheey clumsily brought down a Bari forward in the box. However, Seyer made up for his earlier mistake, pulling off an astounding save to tip the spot-kick onto the post and away. (To see this save click here)

Bari pulled a goal back in the second half, but Forest held on for a second win in four days.

This victory also means that Forest have now gone three league games unbeaten for the first time since the 28th of February 2012.
