Constitution

ETON MANOR RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

1.The Club will be known as ETON MANOR RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB.

2.The playing laws will be those of the Rugby Football Union.

3.The membership shall consist of Full Members, Vice Presidents, Associate Members,Family Members, Student Members, Junior Members, Life or Honorary Members and Social Members.

Full Members:Are playing members and non-playing members paying full subscription and approved by the Executive Committee.

Vice Presidents:Are non-playing members who, having served the Club in some exceptional way. They will have no voting rights at an A.G.M. or E.G.M. unless granted by that meeting on matter relating to their status. Candidates can be put forward by any member of the club for consideration by the General committee.

Associate/ Family
Members: Are non-playing members paying a reduced annual subscription they will not have voting rights at an A.G.M. or E.G.M. unless granted by that meeting on matters relating to their status.

Student Members: Will have the same rights and privileges as Full Members.

Junior Members:Shall be players under the age of 18 years on January 1st of the current season.

Life President A Honorary role which will be held for life or such time the president does not wish to hold the role. In the event of the club having no chairman the president will stand in as a caretaker chairman until an EGM can be held.

4.Membership may be terminated if a member is in arrears with subscriptions or if the Executive Committee, at its' discretion and with a 75% majority vote of the full Executive committee, shall decide that a member's presence and conduct is detrimental to the Club.

5.Annual Subscription and all Match Fees shall be agreed by the members at the A.G.M. The donation required for Vice Presidents will also be decided by the A. G. M.

6.No player will be eligible for selection after the 1st October unless playing subs have been paid.

7.The standing committees of the Club shall be an Executive Committee, a Playing Committee, a Clubhouse Committee Disciplinary Committee and a Grounds Committee. All Committees together being known as the General Committee. All committees have the power to co-opt.

8.The Executive Committee shall consist of the Club Chairman, Club Captain, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, & Youth Chairman.

9.The Playing Committee shall consist of the Team Captains, Senior Coach, Senior Selector, Youth representative and Club Captain.

10.The Clubhouse Committee shall consist of the Bar Manager, Social Secretary, and a member of the executive committee.

11.The function of the Executive Committee shall be to direct policy and generally manage the affairs of the Club.

12.The following officers shall be, whenever possible, elected at the A.G.M.:Chairman, Youth Chairman, Club Captain, Treasurer, Secretary, Team Captains and (Life President when required).

13.A General Meeting shall have the power to appoint Vice Presidents, following a recommendation by the Executive Committee.

14.Annual General Meeting will be held on the 2nd Saturday in June. Items for the agenda must be received by the Hon. Secretary in writing by the 1st June.
Voting is limited to Full Members

15.Other General Meetings shall be convened by the Hon. Secretary within 8 weeks of receiving a requisition signed by at least 15 Full Members of the Club. Unless the date is within the 8 weeks prior to the AGM.

16.Any player appearing before an Essex Counties Disciplinary Hearing or any other official disciplinary hearing shall be responsible for the payment of any fee laid against the Club by that body. This will be at the discretion of the disciplinary committee.

17.The rules shall not be altered or any new rules made except at a General Meeting. Notification of proposed alteration to the rules must be sent to the Hon. Secretary in writing 21 days prior to the day of the meeting.

18.The club colours shall be:-

Dark Blue and Light Blue
Shirts - Dark Blue with Light Blue Hoop
Shorts - Dark Blue
Socks - Dark Blue with Light Blue Detail

19.The Executive Committee shall have the powers to deal with any matters that may not be provided for in the rules.

BYE-LAWS

a.The rules of both the Essex County Cup competitions, and any other competitions entered into by The Club shall be adhered to, and any deviation from these shall be at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
b.The Captains of ALL side run by the Club shall be responsible for the collection and payment to the Hon. Treasurer of the weekly match fee.
c.The Organiser of any function on behalf of the Club shall be directly responsible to the Hon. Treasurer for any monies received.
d.The Executive Committee, after consultation with the Playing Committee can impose on a player up to a 28 day suspension from playing as a result of any sending off. This suspension can be imposed regardless of any action taken by a constituent bodies disciplinary committee.
e.Selection procedures are covered in Appendix A. (to be held in the club house)
f.Eton Manor R.F.C. fully embrace the equal opportunities policy of the local council.
