Signed for £50,000 in the summer of 2002, 'Super Sam' went on to be a goalscoring hero for Swindon Town - netting 68 goals in just 126 league games for the Robins.

He was at Cinder Lane on Saturday evening for a club event which offered players, management and supporters the chance to meet and question the former frontman.

The evening, superbly hosted by BBC commentator Chris Wise, saw representation from the football management, first team, reserves, Fairford residents and others.

Thanks to all volunteers - including bar and catering staff - who made the night possible and for Chris and Sam for providing such great entertainment.
