Report: Slick Shortwood down the Town
Reds suffer 4-0 home defeat
FAIRFORD Town were beaten 4-0 by high-flying Shortwood United on Tuesday 27th December in front of a bumper Cinder Lane crowd.
The home side, blighted by injuries and suspension, included Richard Knox in the heart of the midfield with Adam Clatworthy handed his first start in between the sticks.
The Reds were 2-0 down at the break and saw on-loan midfielder Abdul Said, a half-time substitute, shown a straight red card soon after the break after questioning a decision by the match official.
Two further goals from the in-form visitors secured three points whilst Fairford now head to Reading Town early in the New Year.
