Winning Start to 2013 for the U14s
Good win for the U14s against Marr RFC
This was the U14s first game for 2 months and it showed. The rustiness in their play was obvious and we never reached the level of play we showed at the end of 2012. That said, some of the things we have been working on at training were put to good use, particularly the offloading. It was the continuity of play and keeping the ball alive that led to the majority of the tries. Marr proved to be a tougher opposition that when we played them in Troon earlier in the season and the pressure they put on us with their stout defence probably led to us making errors. We did score seven good tries; Matthew Differ got three, Liam Edmond bagged two, with a try apiece for John Jo Nelson and Rowan Crawford. However, all of these tries came from good interlinking between everyone on the pitch and that was good to see. A lot to work on from this game, but there were also some really good bits of play. Now that the rustiness has gone we look forward to improving through to the end of the season.
