Thoughts on last weeks game

Don't let last weeks score line fool you, Morgan tested us at times especially at the beginning of both halves. What was pleasing during these times was our defensive display as the lads where steadfast and resolute in defending their line. As the game wore on we began to take control, exert pressure and enforce our game plan upon proceedings. Some of our tries were excellent examples of team work but although the score was great we left a few scores on the field as we choose the wrong options, something we will discuss and work on this week.

I would like to take this time and give credit to Morgan who were not at their strongest but gave everything to the game and played with passion and pride.

Thoughts on this weeks game

Grangemouth will be a far tougher opponents this week, they have started the season well and remain unbeaten. We will need to be at our best if we want to beat them. Experience is everything in these games, especially derby games but at times it can also go against a team. The lads have trained well and the excitement has been building as Saturday's horizon looms, the secret will to remain focused and stick to our game plan and when the chances come take advantage of them.

There is no need to motivate the players, after all it is a DERBY

Thoughts on selection

We have a few players missing through injury and unavailability, worryingly as they brought experience to the team. Competition for places will be hard as some of the 3rds have raised their hands for selection and some of last weeks 2's are in contention for the 1's. A difficult conundrum but a pleasant one to have
