Coach Larter looks back on last weekends game and forward to this Saturdays road trip To Haddington

OMG it is now Tuesday morning and my heart beat is just getting back to normal. As many of may not know, I also work for Edinburgh Rugby and if there nerve wracking victory over Munster on Friday night was not bad enough to then have another game so close less than 24 hours later was not good for me or our support.

We spoke in the changing room before kick off and coach Niall Lear had read out 4 messages from previous Falkirk stalwarts Mark McKenzie, Bill Faulds, Studge and lastly John Manson. Very emotional and poignant messages they were, the last one had many starting to well up. They all had one simple message running through them, when 3 o'clock comes around on a Saturday, you join together with your mates and fellow players and you do everything you can to win. And all 19 boys that played on Saturday just did that.

Credit to Whitecraigs, they will be up there at the end of the season, but we just had 1 last shot to get over that white line and you could hear a pin drop as everyone looked on the centre line, as the kick sailed over the posts the place erupted, what a great experience and as ever great support from the crowd.

We took some positives from the game, the lineout functioned better, the scrum was much stronger and the defence was a lot better but like everything else we want to continue to develop and improve. We need to improve in every department to get even better.

This week we are on the road, our first road trip of the new season as we visit Haddington, they have had 2 tough weeks since the start of the season, but if anything we are expecting a tough test as they will want to bounce back and get their season on track. We will travel there with intention of adding to their woes and keeping our positive attitude and attacking play to the fore. As ever we enjoy an excellent travelling support who will give us a little extra encouragement to help us achieve our goals.
