Rory's service and contribution to Falkland CC recognised.

Rory Manson was recently awarded Honorary Life Membership of Falkland Cricket Club in recognition of his outstanding service to the club and to the game of cricket.

At a very emotional presentation held recently at Scroggie Park ,Club President, Robbie Nellies paid tribute to Rory's outstanding contribution to the club over the past 23 years.

Rory joined Falkland from Dunnikier CC in 1993 as a top order batsman and fine cover fielder. During his Falkland career he amassed over 4000 runs scoring ten 50s and three centuries with a top score of 113. Rory also served on the FCC committee for a number of years and has continued to closely follow the club's fortunes.

In addition to a framed Life Membership Certificate Rory was also presented with a photograph from a match in 1995 against Royal High where he was snapped in mid air appealing for a stumping. When the photograph appeared in the Monday's Scotsman newspaper he acquired the nickname of ' Royal High Rory' which has remained with him ever since.

A number of friends including Lil & Alan Cutter of Dunnikier CC and many current and ex players and committee gathered to acknowledge Rory's contribution.

The club was deeply shocked to learn earlier this year that Rory had been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.Everyone at Falkland CC sends their best wishes to Rory and his family.
