Falkland 's miserable League season continued on Saturday with a dreadful nine wicket defeat to Forfarshire at Scroggie Park. First of all credit must be paid to the Falkland ground staff for their efforts in getting the game played, for there had been a considerable amount of rain on the pitch all week, and as it was, the boundary had to be shortened near the scorebox, and one often felt that batsmen did not get real value for their shots.
Falkland, with a weakened team, won the toss and opted to bat first, but had no real answer to the pace of Christian Robertson. Professional Harsha Cooray managed 29 runs before playing on to a wideish ball, and of the others, only Aaron Paul reached double figures as Falkland struggled to 85 all out in 29 Overs. Forfarshire hit off the runs in 11.4 Overs with Matthew Parker scoring 56 not out.The only wicket to fall may however give an indication of Falkland's future for it was "caught Langlands bowled Robertson".
As for the rest of the game, the less said the better. One game remains - at Watsonians next Saturday.
