Falkland 3 beat Marchmont 3 by 4 wkts
Despite a last minute drop out Falkland arrived in Duddingston with a strong youthful 10 man team to take on Marchmont 3s. Opposition won the toss choosing to bat and after a loose opening couple of overs Grant Langlands found his rhythm clean bowling the openers. Some sharp Fielding from Euan Sloan at mid-on brought the 3rd wicket before a middle order stand was finally broken by Connor Langlands caught by keeper Ferguson. With Falklands tails up, the introduction of Euan Sloan brought wickets 5 and 6 and the reintroduction of old timer, Jamie Aitken, added another 2. This left Grant Langlands to return for his 2nd spell to clean up the tail leaving at total of 173 to win the game.
Falkland's run chase got off to a flyer, thanks to a fine 44 from Devon May ,despite losing a couple of wickets. A Connor Langlands masterclass of how to take the game away from your opposition with a wide selection of attacking shots saw off Marchmont with an unbeaten 89. Victory at last providing optimism to finish season on a high with 3 games to go.
