2 months ago By Bernard Rhodes

“Proud to be a Heathen!” Bernie Rhodes

The minis & juniors travelled to New Milton in the New Forest on Sunday 1st October 2017 for the New Milton Tournament.
All the feedback from all the age groups makes a DOR very proud of everyone everyone associated with our club.
Unpaid Coaches, Team Managers & Volunteers turn up and give of their time freely to ensure all the children in their charge have a great experience and most of all Fun!.
Sometimes in the heat of the moment it is easy to forget why we do what we do. The core vales of Rugby are very clear and we all have a responsibility to uphold these vales.

The amazing feedback that has been posted on respective age groups from today's tournament allows everyone to reflect on why we do what we do.

Personally I would like to thank each and every parent for allowing your volunteer coaches to provide your children with the opportunity to participate in a sport that will help frame their character for life. They will make friends for life.

Every child with a beam on their face is a credit to their parents & moreover the coaches who look after them week after week.

It is worthy to note that the minis and juniors of today will be the senior and 1st & 2nd XV of the future.

I could easily nominate a squad of 18 senior players who have come through the junior ranks at Heathens who could happily compete at Hants 1 and above, including more than a handful have represented Hampshire.

Hopefully you will be able to see lots of pictures on this site, showing how much fun was had by everyone today.

I have however chosen a picture from all that I have seen today that shows what we are all about.

Simul et Fortis.
