“Proud of the lads”
Congratulations to our very own Billy Campbell & Michael Thomas who have been invited to train with London Irish.
Close friends and Henry Court pupils had the following to say
"I go to Henry Cort Community College and Michael and me share the school team captaincy, although we haven't played much rugby at all this year. I joined Heathens with no full-contact rugby experience 2 years ago when I was in year 6. I decided to give it a go because playing tag rugby in our PE lessons was great fun. If I am honest I do not follow rugby much outside of the club (only if England is on though), but I really enjoy the tactical and discipline side of rugby. In Rugby I aspire to improve my performance out on the pitch and stay in London Irish for as long as I can. My preferred position is probably fly half because I like organising the line and getting quick passes away. At London Irish we do not do any contact. We focus on ball skills, handling, space awareness and organisation. And I really enjoy it.
This is Michael’s fifth season at Fareham Heathens. I currently attend The Henry Cort Community College. My preferred position is number 8 and my rugby hero is Lee Halfpenny. I enjoy watching The Scarlets whenever I can. I am enjoying the London Irish sessions immensely as well as continuing to train with Hampshire, and play for my school and my club. One day I hope to play for the British and Irish Lions.
I am sure everyone will join us in congratulating the lads and wish them every success for their respective Rugby Careers.
