Heathens prevail in heavy winds

Fareham Heathens 1st XV came through a tough encounter against Ventnor scoring 7 tries to 1.
Heathens with the strong wind behind them in the first half sustained some early pressure from Ventnor, whose large pack managed to get them selves into the Heathens 22 early in but failed to convert pressure to any points.
Heathens opened the scoring on 9 minutes when a clean ball from a lineout inside the Heathens Half was move quickly wide to the right where 15 Jashan Solanki
outstripped the defence and ran in under the posts unapproved. Burr added the extras.
3 minutes later Solanki wrapped around on the left and touched down for his second try with Burr adding the extras.
There was then a period of stalemate and it wasn't until the 30th minute when Heathens shifted the ball left from a ruck and Burr ran in on the left making the score 19-0, just missing the extras.
Heathens worked there way back up field and following a dominant driving scrum Smith gather and stormed over for a try under the posts and Burr duly added the extras. Heathens went in at the break 26-0 up.
Heathens once again sustained some early pressure in the second half as Ventnor looked to apply pressure on the Heathens line. Some stoic defence kept them at bay and following an open field break 10 O'Lochlen touched down under the posts. Burrs kick was charged down despite the fact the all Ventnor players had not retreated behind their line.
Ventnor kept pressing using the conditions and were rewarded with a deserved try on 30 minutes to make it 31-5.
Heathens kept going and were rewarded on 36 minutes when Solanki crossed on the rightbfollwing swift hands across the backs.
Solanki finished off the final play of the game looping round his own pass to score his 4th try on the game in the left hand side.
Burr added the extras against the wind to make the final score 43-5.
