Heathens lose out at home to Bognor
A Bruising encounter goes to the opposition
Fareham Heathens went down in a bruising battle at Cams Alders on Saturday.
The game opened up at a frenetic pace and this did not stop until the final whistle.
Bognor RFC opened up and early lead slotting two penalties in the opening 15 minutes, to take a 6-0 lead.
Heathens hit back on 25 minutes when Cam Guthrie
slotted a penalty to reduce the deficit to 6-3.
Heathens then took the lead with a well worked try started inside the Heathens half with Captain Rob Impey
making a superb line break, drawing the defence and off loading to Steve Devoy
on the right wing who charged in from 20 metres out. Cam Guthrie
added the extras to make it 10-6 to the home side at the break.
Bognor came out in the second half with added vigour and took the lead on 10 minutes with a well worked converted try to make it 10-13.
Heathens were still in the game until Bognor crossed for another converted try from a lineout catch and drive to make it 10-20. Heathens then went down to 14 men along with uncontested scrums and despite working hard conceded two further converted tries to make the final score 10-34.
