Farleigh were without the injured Chris Asante, Kwaku Braams and Leon Worley, while Ross Gormley and Nathaniel Turner were unavailable.
Farleigh started slowly and were guilty of giving away possession far too easily far too often. However, once they started to play their football it was one way traffic and after thirty minutes the foxes opened the scoring when after good work from Aaron Gayle (pictured) Simon Mensah struck a shot at the edge of the box that the keeper could only parry, Thomas Nyarko followed up to score his first goal of the season. The foxes then dominated for the remainder of the half with Asone Patterson going close with a header he should of put away. The foxes second goal came when George Franks nicked the ball of the centre back who tried to usher it out and ran towards goal striking a effort that hit the post but landed straight at Craig Prendergast who smashed it home to give Farleigh a comfortable cushion going into the second half.
Within a minute of the restart though, Sheerwater scored when Ross White struck a superb effort just outside the box after Farleigh failed to close him down. This made the foxes a little edgy which resulted in them giving away several corners and free kicks. Farleigh still looked dangerous on the break and had fantastic opportunities that Prendergast, Patterson Dan Canning and Nicky Meta should of taken. The foxes third goal came when the lively Gayle crossed for Taurean Roberts to score from close range. The fourth goal came when Canning latched onto throughball and ran towards goal before squaring the ball to Prendergast who tapped it home. The fifth goal came after Canning again slotted an through ball this time to Gayle who smashed it in to give the foxes a convincing win.
Farleigh now travel to Hartney Whitney this Saturday, kick off at 3pm.
