Building on Success

In a little over 30 years, Farnham Rugby Club has:
  • Grown to become Farnham's largest charitable community sports club with over 1000 members.
  • With more than 100 senior rugby players.
  • Over 600 boys and girls from as young as 6 years old, regularly playing rugby.
  • Support from over 100 volunteers including more than 80 qualified coaches.
  • Achieved notable success, including being Surrey Champions at minis level and League Champions at junior level.
  • Has produced a number of players who have achieved international honours such as Jonny Wilkinson and Peter Richards, both England full internationals, Ryan Wilson (Scotland U19), Joe MacManus (Ireland U18) and Ian Holloway (England U16).
But our continued success has seen us outgrow our current facilities and for 10 long years, we have sought to move to a new ground. Our goal is to become the area's number one community club so that we can continue to build on our success. After much hard work, and a Public Inquiry, we have now found a new home and we need your help to make our goal a reality.

Progress on the site is in full swing with the consturction of the sports and leisure centre with whom we have partnered on the development and the creation of the pitches which will be ready for use in the not too distant future.

Despite the current economic climate, the club has already had considerable success in securing funding for the building of a new club house and we plan to have it ready for the start of the 2012 season. However, we still require more if we are to build a paviliion that will complement the magnificent grounds - four level, well drained pitches two of which are full international plus a training pitch.

To do this we need the help of not only our members but also the wider community and local businesses.
