Dear member
Next year promises to be perhaps the most important in the clubs’ short history as we get set to moving into our new ground and clubhouse on Wilkinson Way! Those who have visited the site over the past year will have seen significant changes. The David Lloyd Leisure club is now up and running and if, you get a chance, do go in and have a look around – it is amazing.
From our perspective progress has also been dramatic but slightly less visible but we do now have 4 flat(!), well drained(!!) and large(!!!) pitches with grass (!!!!). We have in place an irrigation system, an all weather cricket strip and floodlights (on both sides of the pitch). We also have the beginnings of a clubhouse which is most probably already better than the one we will eventually vacate.
The grand plan remains for us to leave Wrecclesham after the end of this season and the move into Wilkinson Way will take place once the clubhouse is completed in July/August of 2012 – all very exciting.
Of course none of this would be possible without a lot of hard work behind the scenes from an army of helpers and I would like to thank all those involved in the move for their efforts, perseverance and belief over the past year. I would also like to thank all those who have been able to donate money over the last year through the Foundation – the response has been truly magnificent.
Although we are well on our way there is still a lot of work and fund raising to be done - but with your help we are fast making the dream of a new home for the best community club in Surrey a reality.
Best wishes
Geoff Robins
