WONDER GOAL DEFEATS TOWN
Substitute Liam MacDevitt scored a wonder goal to settle this evenly contested match in Horsham's favour.
With defences on top for the first 15 minutes, neither side manage to test the opposing keeper.
But the Lilyhites start to gain control.
A ball launched forward and with back to goal, Mark Lovell is crudely despatched to the floor. Danny Walder's free-kick bounces awkwardly in front of Horsham keeper Brannon Daly who does well to paw it round his right hand post. Walder takes the corner which travels unhindered beyond the back post and on the bounce Oliver Lee sweeps the ball into the far corner from 12 yards. (1-0 after 20 minutes).
With their tails up, the Lilywhites push forward.
A speculative 30 yarder from Luke Griffiths sails a couple of feet over the Horsham bar.
A sweeping delivery from the left by George Monger is just too high for Lovell. Stretching, Lovell's header is narrowly over.
Walder robs Horsham of possession in midfield and finds Carl Rook. Neat interplay between Walder and Rook down the left and Walder's dangerous cross into the area is chested anxiously away for a corner.
Walder's corner is defended and Horsham break quickly with Toby House enjoying a couple of yards head start. House heads for the Town area, but excellent covering defensive work by Dan Carrington shepherds the Horsham man away from goal. Carrington then completes the job by winning possession and bringing the ball clear. Wonderful stuff.
The respite though, is short-lived.
House's delivery from the right is over the top of Lee's head, Simon Overland goes to ground to collect but is unable to keep hold and George Landais is on hand to force the loose ball home from close range. (1-1 after 40 minutes).

Monger wins possession wide left. The cross into the area causes uncertaintity in the Horsham defence, with the ball bouncing over both Lovell and a defender before being claimed by the keeper.
At the other end, Matt Bourne sticks out a leg to defend a delivery from the Horsham left forcing Overland into a sharp save to his right to prevent an own goal.
With the second half only 12 minutes old, a worrying sight for Lilywhite fans as Monger is forced to limp off with injury. A double substitution follows. Monger and Rook replaced by Ernest Okoh and Liam King.
Carrington is scythed down 10 yards outside the area. Walder's free-kick from the left is curling towards the far post. Bourne rises and makes good contact. It's in, but no, it's wide. From the stands, for all the world it appeared as if the net would bulge. So, so close.
And then MacDevitt's 69th minute introduction proves decisive. Within a minute, he picks up the ball wide left on the halfway line, drives all the way along the line avoiding all challenges, before cutting into the area, beating two more defenders and finally unleashing an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net. (1-2 after 69 minutes).
With 15 to go, a Horsham corner driven in from the left. Lewis Hyde wins the aerial battle but Overland finds a top save to tip it over the bar.
King brings it forward from midfield, rolls it wide for Griffiths who delivers a low, hard centre into the area. With Lilywhites charging into the area, a Horsham defender sticks out a leg and deflects it over the bar for a corner.
The resultant corner finds it's way to King in the area. King finds himself some space, turns, shoots. But cleared off the by a Horsham knee.
