Faversham Town welcomed Woodnesbourgh Fc to Sharsted Sports Town Reserves looking for a reply to the 4-2 loss away to the Woodies In September. Town took the game to their opponents from the kick off Reece Bedford bringing the ball down and firing his shot into the side netting within 10 minutes. Faversham kept the pressure up and on 32 minutes Bedford again from the same position made no mistake firing the ball into the woodies net 1-0 to Faversham. Town went in at half time 1-0 up but slightly disappointed their lead wasn’t more.

HT 1-0
Second half kicked off with Town looking to extend their lead knowing a one goal margin would be no guarantee of all three points due to their recent form of not keeping clean sheets. However on the 68 minute mark Jordan Holliday eased Towns worries scoring a powerful header great work on the left flank from Max Gray setting the ball back to Dan King whose first time deep curling Cross found Holliday at the back post to head home. Only 1 minute later Town won themselves a free kick 35 yards from goal Will Davis stepped up to take Davis seeing the Woodies keeper slightly off his line watched his precise effort lob the Woodnesbourgh keeper to put Town 3-0 up. Town now bossing the midfield with the energetic Siya Ndebele first to every ball and quick on the attack. On 75 minutes Joe Lester beat the off side trap to race clear on goal great determination form Lester rounding the keeper and finishing from a tight angle to put Town 4-0 up. Town now rampant on the attack Max Gray seeing his first time volley just inside the area cannon back of the upright. Two minutes later Callum Leader broke free in the Woodies area only to be scythed down for a certain Faversham penalty. Callum Leader Faversham's top scorer stepped up to take the spot kick himself unfortunately his effort was fired straight at the Woodnesbourgh keeper who pushed the shot up and over the bar. On 82 mins arguably Towns best goal of the game quick first time passing on the edge of the Woodies area from Gray, King, Davis and Leader who then found Joe Lester who turned and placed the ball past the advancing keeper. In the dying minutes of the game Lester was inches away from scoring again racing down the right channel hitting a great shot across the keeper to rebound of the fare post just before the final Whistle.

A devastating 20 minute spell in the second half sore Town score 4 goals miss a penalty and hit the woodwork twice.
A good day for the young Reserves 5-0 win against a good side and a much-needed clean sheet. M.O.M could be anyone of the Town squad Will Davis coming off the bench in second half looked after the ball well with his passing game. Sean Mchugh wining the midfield battle in the early stages to put Woodnesbourgh on the back foot from the start with help from the impressive Ndebele in midfield. Great work on both flanks from Holliday and Gray. Not to mention the front three of Leader, Lester and Bedford who didn’t give the Woodies back line a moments piece
Town looked comfortable in defence
Nye Griffths winning all his aerial battles with Dan King and Ryan Macdonald giving Towns two debutant Keepers plenty of protection. Good luck to Woodnesbourgh for the rest of the season
