Faversham Town Reserves 3-3 Uni of Kent
Lester ⚽️ 35’⚽️54’⚽️ 76’
Faversham Town Reserves travelled to Canterbury for their first league meeting against University of Kent. Town not having the luxury of a full squad but optimistic for a result after their recent good form. The first half hour of the game went past without any major talking points both teams unable to make any impact. On 32 minutes University of Kent did take the lead with a shot from the edge of the Town area. Within 3 minutes Town where back level thanks to front man Joe Lester, Will Davis found some space in midfield and released Lester on goal. Lester cut inside his marker and fired across the Keeper into the far corner with a low left foot shot 1-1. Callum Leader and Will Davis both had chances to give Town a lead going into half time but two good saves from the University of Kent keeper kept it level at the break.
After 5 minutes of the re start Town had Ellis Woods to thank, the Uni striker breaking free for a one on one with the Town keeper. Woods was quick off his line to deny the forward, with a good save with his left foot to keep Town in the match. The Lilywhites took the lead on 54 minutes, Joe Lester seeing his shot saved by the Uni keeper. Lester had plenty to do, first keeping the ball in play on the by line, then beating the defender, this time shooting past the keeper to give Town a 2-1 lead. Towns lead was pegged back, the University of Kent winger starting to cause Faversham problems down the right side. Weaving his way through Towns defence for the equaliser 2-2. On 71 minutes Town go behind for the second time in the game, a long range dipping shot finding its way into the Town goal, 3-2 to University of Kent. Could Town come back again? The young team had to dig deep now if they wanted anything from the game, and so they did. Great work from Harry Sheridan winning the ball in midfield, then making a perfectly timed pass in to Lester, Town’s striker. Lester was away, rounded the Uni keeper, to score with a composed finish 3-3.

M.O.M Joe Lester a hat-trick to gain Town a point.
Not the young Lilywhites best performance of late but scoring 3 goals away and an away point not a bad result. Town finished November unbeaten and 3rd in the league So well done Lads.
