Fawley RFC U13 continued their great start to the season with another convincing win against Vectis 50-10 in the U13 Hampshire Cup.

The match was preceded by a 2 minutes silence held in remembrance with the last post brilliantly played out by a member of the Vectis U14 squad.

Once the game started Fawley dominated the open exchanges in this fiesty encounter. I couple of early injuries broke up the play to begin with however the Fawley backs quickly began to move the ball around finding gaps in the stout and committed Vectis defence. Monty Richmond run in a quick hat-trick of tries which enable the game to open up. The tackling was excellent by both teams with Fawley having the edge in the breakdowns but Vectis having the edge in the scrum.

The speed of Fawleys play and excellent handling continued to create a number of chances and further tries followed from Jake Clark, Henry Hewett-Curl and Niko Taweneke. Monty Richmond added further tries as Fawley exploited the space on the new larger pitch used at U13 Level. The scrum still caused Fawley some issues however a great effort from the pack and quick ball held the excellent Vectis pack at bay.

As both teams tired and with Fawley down to 12 men and 50-0 up Vectis showed great heart to run in two late tries of their own.

A great effort by both teams.
