FC Sarasota U18 Boys Elite

Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are the FC Sarasota U18 Boys Team. This group of young men are united in a commitment to train year round, to maximize their potential as a team and as individual athletes. Since 2005, this group of players is first local team program designed to by-pass traditional club-level politics and unify the most committed and skilled players from the major youth soccer affiliates in Manatee and Sarasota counties. The focus then and now centers upon tactical soccer knowledge and implementation of sound technical skills while emphasizing individual accountability, developmental training and practice over the sole result of a game outcome. “We want our players to play the game right and develop as skilled athletes versus boot-balling just to get the win”, said Coach DeClerico. Representing a broad ethnic and economic mix from across Sarasota and Manatee Counties, this group of young men needs the support of the local community to help them realize their potential and pursue their soccer career as far as possible.


This coming school year may be the most important in their athletic and personal development. As most of the boys will be entering their senior year in high school, this is the time when the opportunity to be seen, scouted, and hopefully considered for college soccer opportunities is at its height. We have planned a broad schedule of tournament, league and showcase play that will maximize their exposure to college coaches and scouts. Inevitably this will involve considerable travel, planning and expense. In order to reach their potential it is important to attend the highest rated tournaments in the country. The team hopes to play in college showcase tournaments in Atlanta, Raleigh, Dallas, as well as several in Florida. The boys are committed to doing everything they can to raise funds to make this ambitious plan possible.
