The Presidents Remarks

League cricket is back with us this week and we start with the double header derby versus Kelburne.

On behalf of Ferguslie Cricket Club I wish you all the best for the season.

It is my honour and privilege to be president of this club in our 125th year and I hope that we can restore our position as one of Scotland’s leading clubs.

The 1st Eleven this year will be captained by David Stafford and is full of exciting young talent. To assist David we have enlisted a new professional from Zimbabwe, Malcolm Waller. Malcolm is a top order batsman and off-spin bowler and has already been capped for his country. Along with Malcolm, we have an overseas amateur from The Gold Coast in Australia, Michael Homewood. Michael is a talented all-rounder whom I am sure will add runs and wickets when required.
We wish them all success in the coming months.

A number of events are planned for the coming months to celebrate our 125th year, a match against a Cricket Scotland Presidents X1 on 22nd July, summer fete on 5th August and our annual dinner on 23rd November being amongst the highlights.

All forthcoming events can be found on our website:

Thank you for your support.
