Fillongley Cricket Club exists to provide players, opponents, umpires and spectators with cricket games played as competitively as possible. Following in the best traditions of the Club, we aspire to do this in an environment that encourages the highest level of competition while respecting opponents and officials. We expect that all players will respect our wishes.

Thus becoming a member of Fillongley Cricket Club (hereafter referred to as "the Club") or taking the field as part of any team representing the Club, a player agrees to abide by the folowing:

  3. to abide by the spirit as well as the letter of the Laws of Cricket
  4. whilst awaiting an umpire's decision, to refrian from any actions intended to influence that decision, other than reasonable appealing when fielding
  5. to accept the umpire's decision at all times and not show any dissent
  6. to accept victory and defeat with dignity
  7. to refrain from swearing and/or using foul or abusive language, both on or off the field
  8. to refrain from intimidation or deliberate deistraction of opponents by acts of gamesmanship or aggresive behaviour

Players are reminded that the club facilities and equipment should be treated with respect not least because all playing facilities at Fillongley and most other cricket clubs are provided by the dedication and hard work of volunteers. Any club member found to be damaging the property of the club or of Fillongley's opponents will be asked to pay for the damage caused.

Enforcement of the Code of Conduct

It is our hope that the enforcement of this Code of Conduct will be a matter for every Club member themselves and we do not wish to document an enforcement policy. All are responsible for ensuring that the good reputation of the Club is upheld whilst on the field of play, the captain shall take the lead. In the unfortunate event that further action is required, the Management Committee will be asked to convene a Disciplinary Panel.

Junior Teams

In junior teams players are expected at all times to take the advice of the Club's coach or senior player running the game.
