Welcome back to Finchley RFC
Hi All,
A warm welcome to Haani, Laith, Charlie, Cameron and Nicholas who have filled the vacant slots in our squad over the last two weeks. We are back to full capacity again and rearing to go! The first away game is Sunday week at Hammersmith and Fulham RFC (address etc will follow next week after team selection).
This coming Sunday the coaches will be selecting the teams to play at Hammersmith & Fulham. At present it looks like we will be sending two teams but I'll confirm that next week.
The coaches have asked me to remind you that all players need to have the following at all training sessions:
Mouth guard
Scrum Cap
Proper boots with rugby studs (available at Sportsdirect), no trainers please they are dangerous on the wet ground and unsuitable.
It's a good time to be thinking about skins too. Long sleeve for the tops and shorts for the bottoms, no long leg skins they are not allowed as can cause injury when studs get caught in them. Try www.sportsdirect.com or www.newitts.com
I've typed up a register for this season which Katharine has taken for me this week as I'm still collecting subs at the clubhouse. Please make sure your child is marked in the register each week.
Parents cannot go off site while their children are training. If you wish to wait in the clubhouse and read the newspaper or have a bacon sandwich just make sure you have told someone where you are.
That's it - have a good week and hope it's not another torrential Sunday next week...maybe it's preparing us for those cold, cold Sundays ahead.
