The Old Edwardians
The present Association has been in existence since 1979, when Mr E.L. Osmend, on his retirement from teaching at the School for 40 years was asked by the present Headmaster if he would resurrect it.
We now have slightly more than 1,100 members who now reside in all parts of this country and various parts of the world.
Purpose
The Association exists to provide “the primary means by which the school and former pupils, staff and friends maintain contact for their mutual interest and benefit.
Administration
The Association is administered by an Executive Committee of volunteers comprised of current and former pupils and staff. The current Executive Committee members are:

Vice Chair : Stuart Harris
Colin Spencer Honorary Secretary
Pupil representative : (variable)
Young Edwardian : (TBC)
Treasurer : (vacant)
David Wheeldon : Honorary President
Mark Overton (Staff)
John Burgum (Ex staff)
The Executive Committee meets at least 3 times a year.

Membership
We offer the following categories of membership
Life
This is the usual option, and an application form with return details is available from here form
Associate
This is available to all pupil leavers giving them free membership until they are aged 23.
Honorary (Staff)
This is available to all staff after 5 years in post.
Honorary (Discretionary)
This may be awarded by the Executive to special friends of the Association or School.
Vice President
You will become a VP after 20 years membership.
President
You will become a President after 30 years membership.
Activities
We produce a Newsletter twice a year filled with news of old pupils and staff, anecdotes, photographs, and event reports and details.
We hold a number of events throughout the year; these include:
Monthly lunches at Portland Hotel, Hagley Road, Edgbaston. Usually every second Wednesday at 12:30 for 1:00pm. No need to book, £10 for 3 courses including gratuity. Turn up and you will be welcomed.
Golf Tournament. The next of these is yet to be organised. Watch this space for details, or register your interest by sending us an email to fivewaysoldedwardians@hotmail.co.uk
