Five Ways 2nds 21 Redditch 17
A comfortable win for our seconds despite playing down the notorious hill in the first half.
Captain for the day Seamus McGowan defied the usual tactic of playing up the hill at Redditch in the first half to record a comfortable win for the 2nds. With plenty of subs available and constantly used, the team took along time to settle and make use of the slope. Eventually Liam Lewellyn showed good strength and pace to score. Ashley Scriven added a second before the half time whistle to give Ways a slender lead. The second half saw the usual slog up the hill for Ways but good tackling and attacking adventure kept Redditch comfortably at bay. Ashley Scriven scored a second after a good passing movement to secure the victory. Next Saturday the 1st XV have a league game away at Barbarians and the 2nds are at home to them. Let's keep this second team playing guys !
