The front row of Jonny Wild, Henry Turner and Ben Corless held firm ably supported by 2nd row partners Rob Brookfield and Dale Thompson.
In the back row Roger Banks played at no.8 with Danny Maher and Dave Hart on the flanks. Maher and Corless were particularly impressive in loose play with Brookfield also showing well.

Heaton Moor were no pushover but never posed a real threat to Fleetwood who dominated proceedings despite the backs making crucial errors in the final third of the pitch. Craig Aikman resumed at 9 with the versatile Tom Evans taking the no. 10 shirt in Ryan Riches’ absence. Lee Jones had a solid game at centre with partner Adam Crisp carrying a slight illness yet still crossing for 2 tries with Jones adding 1 of his own. Craig Aikman scored from the base of a ruck with Kris Phillips also getting on the score sheet. The impressive Danny Maher complemented the try-scoring as the only forward to cross the white line. Nick Smith once again impressed when he came on in the 2nd half in the front row as Steve Woodburn replaced Roger Banks at no.8. Zac Coultas also saw some 1st team action replacing Adam Crisp in the centre. Evans took on kicking duties and goaled 2 of the 6 tries with Moor only responding with 1 penalty for their efforts.

Craig Cowley had a fine game for Fleetwood at full-back showing his ability to play in that position or on the wing where Phillips and Bobby Jones also look strong. Man of the match was awarded to prop forward Ben Corless

Next week Fleetwood travel to Aldwinians who are currently 2nd in the league and are sure to provide the toughest test of the season so far.
