We all know that Liverpool have "You'll Never Walk Alone" and West Ham fans are "Forever Blowing Bubbles" but Flint also has its own song, "The Yard"

It's origins are somewhat obscure, and its lyrics rather idiosyncratic, but the song probably dates from the 1920/30's as it references a local, prominent figure, "Bob the Barber" who was Mayor of the Town and Chairman of the Football Club.

The chorus of the song is that which is most usually heard, and goes as follows :
The yard, the yard, the old coal yard.
The yard, the yard, the old coal yard.
There is a lodging house down Castle Street
Down by the old coal yard
.

The full words to the song can be found under The Information tab on the home page of the web site.

If anyone has any further information relating to the songs' origins, then please get in touch, so we can update our records.
