The under 14’s got their season under way with a well accomplished 22-16 win against Kippax in the National Cup second round.

A bye is the first round saw Tony Baker’s team drawn against Kippax of Leeds, where it was expected that it would prove to be a test for Folly. The game didn’t disappoint, with Kippax taking an early lead, showing that their trip across the Pennines wasn’t going to affect them.

With strong displays throughout the Folly team, they went on to win the game 22-16 without really getting out of second gear. Tries came from Harry Smith (2), Cameron Baker and an inventive kick from Charlie Davey saw Tom Farr score the 4th try of the morning for Folly. Harry Smith went on to kick 3 from 4 conversions.

With plenty more in the tank, the 14’s will be looking to build on their success when they face Normanton who finished three places above Kippax in the Yorkshire Junior Premier League. The fixture is planned for Sunday 22nd February and shall be played at Blue Ribbon Playing Field – Kick Off TBC.
