48 hour Charity Relay Run

The club are planning to set what might well become a Guinness World record over the Six Nations weekend of Feb 24-26 with a non-stop fund-raising charity event in the clubhouse aimed at setting the longest distance to be run in 48 hours.

All are invited to take part in slots of 15 minutes, with each runner raising their own sponsorship and proceeds being split 50/50 between the Macmillan Cancer Trust and the Tony O’Connell Founders Fund.
Two running machines will be available and the action will be non-stop starting at 8pm on the Friday evening and running (literally!!) through to 8pm on the Sunday evening.
All the Six Nations games will be on the BBC – Ireland v. Italy at 1.30 on the Saturday, England v.Wales at 4pm, and Scotland v. France on the Sunday at 3pm.
The Bar will be open until 11.30pm and entertainment will be provided through the night with a host of DVDs showing films as well as plenty of bacon sandwiches for breakfast!!
What we need now is for everyone to drum up their own sponsorship and sign up for the allotted time-slots on the charts that are to be displayed in the clubhouse....... or to contact the organiser in chief Tim Donell or his lieutenants Steve Brown, Dee Stone and/or Mat Norton.
