On the same evening Ben was awarded the John Sneezum Captain's Tankard for his successful leadership of the Hampshire U20 team. The U20's made the semi final of their competition, one step from Twickenham, before going down to a strong Staffordshire fifteen.

Badge has for some time been a valued and respected member of the coaching team responsible for the development of the Colts and Juniors, but it was in his role as Coach of the Ladies section that his name was put forward for the award.

He accepted the invitation to coach the Ladies section in August 2014 ahead of the team’s participation in the 2014/15 South Hampshire Ladies Touch Series events.

The number of lady players had been steadily increasing over the two previous seasons to the point where the training sessions needed a coach to provide cohesion and skills development.

The results of his work and the players has been evidenced by winning this season’s Touch Series events.
