It was a game neither side could afford to lose with Hudson's looking favourites for the league. Logan Cruickshank was fit again and joined Nathan Keddie in the starting line up with Roy Welsh and Gavin Norrie dropping to the bench for Fordoun.

Craig Thomson and Michael Deans had chances for Fordoun before Dean McComiskie gave the visitors the lead ten minutes before half time. In the last attack of the half Kevin Hector and Dean McComiskie both hit the woodwork as Fordoun tried to add to their lead.

HT Black Abbot 0-1 Fordoun Galaxy

The Abbot got back into the game when they won a free kick on the right and when the ball it arrived in the box it was converted to equalise. Then a moment of controversy as a foul by Logan Cruickshank which seemed to be outside the box but was given as a penalty and the Abbot went ahead.

It was 3-1 to the Abbot shortly later as they broke up the park, beat the offside trap and scored. Logan Cruickshank then saw red after a second booking but Fordoun kept looking for a way back into the match. A fourth Abbot goal killed the contest but Nathan Keddie did pull one back for Galaxy.
