FHP eventually earned a point in roller coaster match ...

Forest Hill rescued a point in an entertaining 3-3 match, but really should have put the game beyond the visitors within the first period.

The hosts were on the front foot from the first whistle and dominated possession throughout the early stages. Deservedly, after some fine team play, FHP were soon rewarded from their positive start as Herve Mbongue opened the scoring within 10 minutes from an excellent firm shot, a good finish.

1-0

The home side enjoyed much of the ball, controlled the game and created many more chances to score, Phoenix were not in the game, so another goal against them may have finished them off, but FHP didn't capitalise as the opportunities were wasted.

Just before the end of the half and against the run of play, Phoenix gained a free kick after a clumsy foul.
The resulting free kick gave the away side a life line as they scored from the set piece.

The second period had a different feel, Phoenix were now typically in the game and started to grow in confidence. That confidence was given another boost by a bizarre gifted goal from a FHP defence error, as the visitors forward capitalised from the error and took his chance well.

1-2

The visitors were now in the ascendency, as the game took another direction. It was end to end as FHP were still stunned to find themselves behind. To their credit FHP attacked the away sides goal. In one occasion gained a penalty. Alex Benacanim scored from the spot.

2-2

The game was in the balance, Phoenix had grown in confidence and showed it through their tricky attackers. FHP were not as dominant as before and allowed the visitors to put on the pressure. Phoenix regained the lead from an excellent individual goal from the skilful wide player with a rasping shot.

2-3

Even though going behind, FHP never gave up and worked hard to get back into the game.
Near the latter stages of the match, Stanley Ugwoke took it upon himself to score a fantastic individual goal, as he picked up the ball midway inside his own half, and from a tight angle to lob the oncoming keeper, to earn his team a point.

That's where the excitement ended...
