1st team win 2-0 at home to Farnborough whilst Reserves win 3-0 away at Meridean....

FHP continue to set the pace at the top of the division, but the win against lowly but tenacious Farnborough wasn't an easy stroll. The FHP manager was forced to make a number of changes, as key players were unavailable for selection. Fortunately he had adequate players to call on, (Slav & Matthius returning from injury, and call ups from the reserves) .
From the start FHP showed their intent and quickly took the lead within 5 minutes with a good strike from Sinclair within the box, after some positive build up play. The home side had other opportunities to double their lead, but unfortunately squandered those chances. FHP clearly were the stronger side in terms of quality and technical ability, as they retained possession of the ball a lot neater, Stan took his responsibility well as he controlled the midfield area of the pitch, but Farnborough worked extremely hard and were a tough nut to crack. They themselves created a number of goal scoring opportunities, but were denied by a combination of solid defending and good goalkeeping from Vlad.

HT 0-0

The second period continued in the same vein, FHP in search of their second goal and Farnborough equally pressing for the equaliser.
With both sides unable to find the goals they were seeking, the match became highly intense occasionally with emotions running high at times. The referee was called upon to deal with a number of emotive incidents, but all was under control in this competitive encounter.

Slav came onto the pitch from the subs bench and made an immediate impact for FHP. From a corner, his deft touch finally doubled FHPs lead to claim the maximum three points, shattering any hopes of Farnborough getting any points from the game.

Forest Hill controlled the game and were mostly dominant but sloppy at times. Not one of their best performances, but enough done to claim the all important three points. Stan awarded MOM.
