As has been mentioned in the 4th XI Reports on several occasions, everyone that was involved with the side were mindful of the fact that, without the sustained time, commitment and passion that the Captain, Steve Dwyer, applied to the 4th XI, it is highly questionable as to whether we could have got through an entire season of fixtures.

In appreciation of this fact, the final award of the evening was presented to
Captain Dwyer. The usual suggestions of tankards, prints, et al, were suggested; however, it was felt that the Captain should be presented with a life long reminder of the appreciation of his 4th XI colleagues; therefore, due to his first ball duck, that he recorded v Hightown St Marys on 29 May 16, Steve Dwyer became a member of the internationally recognised cricket charity, the Primary Club.

On the night of the function, he was presented with his certificate from the Primary Club and, in a belated presentation, as can be seen in the photograph, the formalities were finally concluded with the presentation of the highly prestigious Primary Club tie.
