Our youth teams supported by parents, coaches, friends and Santa's helpers manned the tills at Marks and Spencer, Gyle Shopping area on 6th December to do a sponsored 'bagpack'.
They raised an amazing £1,198.85 (plus a few foreign coins) to help support the work the React 2 Rugby Trust does in promoting sport and healthy living in local schools.
Bill Smith had a smile on his face the length of Princes Street when he saw the response he got from his volunteers. Some did a half day and others were there for the full shift. All credit to everyone concerned and also to the volunteers who had been doing their coaching session at St Margaret's Park then headed over to the Gyle.
What team spirit. For the first time our girls team were there and what an impact they had on the shoppers. Well done girls.
On behalf of the Club and the Trust we are really proud of our youth, their community spirit and also the support we get from parents, coaches and organisations such as M+S who realise we cannot do things alone.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
