Well we escaped the rain.......just

19 footballers turned up to the 3rd of 4 Summer Fundays.

I thought the chances were that we were going to get soaked (owing to the forecast) but we managed to get away with a few showers. The worst of it bang on lunch time as those that stayed all day hid under a tree to have their lunch.

I split the players up into two groups, those staying for the morning session (younger ones) and those staying all day (older ones).

We started with 'Tiger Tails' to warm up all the players and then moved onto the 'Body Part game'.

The winner of the Body Part game for the younger ones was Hadley Smith with JT winning the older group. Freddy Jones then suggested a face off between the 2 to decide on the overall winner and JT wasted no time in beating Hadley to the title.

Next up was 'King of the Ring'. Again this was keenly fought with Joseph James winning for the younger ones and JT again the winner for the older ones. Again JT dispatched Joseph's ball out of the ring in no time to be the winner (a popular winner!!!)

I then set up some sprint races, which is always popular with the players and the losing teams completing 'Star jumps' as their forfeit!!!

We then finished with matches for both groups before it was home time for the young ones and lunch for the older ones.

After lunch and a brief rain shower, it was time for some more games.

'Handball' started the afternoon session which ended up more like Rugby!!!! So after the scrum we moved onto 'Target' trying to play the ball to your player who was in the End Zone.

I then set up the '3 goal game' where the aim was to play the ball between the poles for a point or the golden hoop for 3 points.

The final part of the day involved a match, but injuries, tiredness and bad fitting boots were taking it's toll on the players!!!!!

It was nice to see some old faces as the Frost boys, Tyler and Joel attended today and 2 other new faces Harry Littlewood and Joseph James making their Funday debuts.

I hope the footballers enjoyed the session.
