Reserve side miss out on final as First team end pre season with defeat also

Four Crosses Reserves have lost in the Semi Final of the Llanfechain knockout for the second season running after a narrow 2-1 defeat against Waterloo Reserves last night.

Seb Siddi had given the Crosses the lead and they were unlucky not to add to it when Dan Jay saw his goal bound effort superbly saved by the Waterloo keeper. Waterloo however managed to find the back of Gaz Wilsons net twice to secure a 2-1 victory and set up a final Vs Llanfair United Reserves.

While the reserves were facing defeat the first team also rounded off their pre season in poor fashion. The conditions of the pitch with the long grass meant The Crosses were unable to play the type of football they have been used to during the pre season games and they struggled to adapt. Llanrhaeadr took advantage of the Crosses back line protesting an offside to take the lead before adding a free kick in the second period and adding a third late on. Chris Bishop scored the consolation for Four Crosses who will look to put this performance and result behind them when they start their league campaign at home to Carno on Saturday.
