THURLOW NUNN PREMIER DIVISION
FRAMLINGHAM TOWN 0 HAVERHILL ROVERS 2
Both teams were searching for their first league points of the season and it was the visitors who took their chances to take all three. The home side had a couple of early attacks, Max Willett’s dangerous cross was blocked and the same player was involved in a good move between Charlie Smith and Simon Poacher before Danny Smiths shot was blocked by a defenders hand however the referee waved play on. The visitors number 11 Micky Davis was seeing a lot of the ball in midfield and on 29 minutes they took the lead when the ball was played between the home defenders for Ben Bradley to run onto and slot past Chilvers. As the home side pushed for an equalizer a golden chance went begging on 36 minutes when Cyrus Thorpe was upended in the area and Danny Smith’s spot kick was saved by keeper Philp. The second half belonged to Fram for possession as they pushed for a goal and as early as the first minute of the second half Willetts cross created problems, two headers from Johnson went wide as the home side forced four corners in the first five minutes of the second half. On 57 minutes Kerridge headed goalwards for Aldis whose header was cleared off the line. As Fram searched for a goal Haverhill doubled their lead when Micky Davis found space and shot across Chilvers for their second goal. Danny Smith shot wide after finding space and substitute Alex Ling volleyed over from the edge of the area. Fram played well enough to at least secure a point however Haverhill took their two chances to secure the win.
